The White Peaks, a charming boutique homestay nestled in the picturesque hamlet of Gagar, is just 3 kilometers away from the bustling town of Ramgarh, often referred to as the “fruit bowl of Kumaon.” Located approximately 8 hours from Delhi, this idyllic destination presents an ideal choice for weekend getaway enthusiasts seeking a peaceful escape from the city’s hustle and bustle.

If you’ve ever harbored dreams of owning a vacation home in the mountains, fear not! The White Peaks has made your dream a reality. While the owners reside in Delhi, they have graciously offered their vacation home to travelers, allowing them to unwind and enjoy a tranquil getaway.

The cottage, elegantly styled and meticulously decorated, exudes a cozy and inviting atmosphere, creating a sense of being away from home. With only two bedrooms, the cottage is exclusively reserved for one person, a couple, or a small group, ensuring complete privacy and luxury.

During my recent visit, I had the privilege of having the entire cottage to myself, which allowed me to fully immerse myself in the solitude I had always yearned for amidst the mountains. The White Peaks provided me with the perfect haven for relaxation and rejuvenation.

​The White Peaks is aptly named for its unobstructed views of the majestic white peaks of the Himalayan range. The view of the peaks is particularly clear during the months of December and January. I had the privilege of visiting in March.

Every corner of the cottage offered breathtaking views of the majestic Himalayan Range, which I found utterly captivating. This particular corner, adorned with hanging pots adorned with vibrant red rhododendrons, beckoned me every time I stepped out.

​The majestic Himalayas compelled me to rise early each morning to witness the breathtaking sunrise. As the sun climbed higher, the mountains gradually came alive with a mesmerizing glow, adorned in layers of shimmering gold.

This was my favorite spot in the courtyard for breakfast. The breathtaking mountain view completely overshadows the king-size breakfast of aloo poori, scrambled eggs, toast, and a salad.

The birds didn’t disappoint me either. As I had a relaxed breakfast, they diligently performed their morning duties.

​The natural beauty surrounding The White Peaks is breathtaking, and the interior design is equally captivating. The cozy living room with its pleasant interiors invites you to stay longer. The antique artifacts and modern decor create a classy ambiance throughout the property.

The cottage itself is a mini-library, boasting a vast collection of books spanning various genres in every corner. There’s a book for every taste and interest. Even a non-reader like me couldn’t resist picking up a few books from the inviting racks.

The beds are exceptionally comfortable, so you might just want to catch up on those extra sleep hours during your relaxed holiday.

The balcony with its breathtaking view provided an ideal spot for me to work (or pretend to work!). Who would concentrate on their screen when the birds chirp cheerfully and the mountains undergo a mesmerizing shade change every hour?

The temperature outside dropped to a chilly 5-6 degrees during the night. The cozy ambiance created by the fireplace made my solo dinner dates enjoyable and entertaining.
