The White Peaks - a boutique homestay in Gagar, Uttarakhand
The White Peaks is a boutique homestay in a hamlet named Gagar, 3 kms short Ramgarh - the fruit bowl of Kumaon. It is around 8 hours drive from Delhi, one of the best choices for weekend getaways from Delhi. If you ever wished to buy a vacation home in the mountains, you need to stop worrying about it. The owners of The White Peaks have done that job for you. While they live in Delhi, they have put up their vacation home for other travellers to enjoy a relaxed vacation. It is a cozy little cottage beautifully styled and decorated to give a feeling of home away from home.
The cottage has 2 bedrooms and is entirely booked just for one person/couple/group at a time. You have all the privacy and luxury to yourself. The rates are on per person basis. I visited The White Peaks alone, and I had the entire cottage to myself. The White Peaks gave me the solitude I always desire in the mountains. The White Peaks is rightly named after the unobstructed views of the white peaks of the Himalayan range it offers. The view of the peaks is clearer in the months of December and January. I had visited in March. Every corner of the cottage gave the vast views of the Himalayan Range, which I couldn't stop admiring. This corner with hanging pots decorated with bright red rhododendrons attracted me each time I stepped out. The wide range of Himalayas induced me to wake up early in the morning for the sunrise. I could see layers of mountains slowly shining with the golden hues. This was my favourite spot in the courtyard for breakfast. The mountain view takes over the king size breakfast of aloo poori, scrambled eggs, toast and a salad. The birds didn't disappoint me either. While I was having a laidback breakfast, the birds were on their morning duties. This bird gave me such an innocent look! The blossoms in the garden added on to the delight of the day. The natural beauty around The White Peaks is superb, even the interior beauty won't let you down! A cozy living room with pleasant interiors would make you want to live here longer. The antique artefacts and the modern decors give a classy look to the property. The cottage is also a mini-library. There is a huge collection of books of various genres in each corner of the cottage. There's a book for everyone. The books are so inviting that even a non-reader like me, would pick up a couple of books from one of the racks. The beds are extra comfortable, you might just want to catch up on the extra sleep hours on your relaxed holiday. The balcony with the view made an excellent place for me to work (or pretend to work!). Come on, who would focus on the screen when you have beautiful birds chirping around and the mountains changing their shade every hour? I had the luxury of admiring the white peaks and the clouds, while staying connected to my virtual Desktop in the Cloud through CloudDesktopOnline.com and work files through CloudAppsPortal.com. The temperature outside was 5-6 degrees in the night. The fireplace made a cozy ambiance for my dinner dates (I'm never bored of dating myself). The resident staff cooks excellent food and takes care of the entire cottage and your needs. The White Peaks gives you a completely stress-free and a relaxed holiday in the lap of the Himalayas. P.S. I was invited by and hosted by The White Peaks for the property review. Related Posts:

Though you seem to have a successful IT background in past, a question was creeping in my mind that did you venture / make a business out of your Passion or you just made a Fortune out of past profession that lets you live your dream unconditionally..just curious!
