The Hosteller, a chain of backpacker friendly hostels in India, has one of its finest properties in Coorg, nestled in coffee plantations. A charming local-style homestay now converted to a budget-friendly backpacker hostel was a comfortable stay on my solo road journey from Manali to Kochi. I'm just amazed at the way the hostel culture is changing the way we travel in India. Impromptu trips to popular destinations are no more heavy on pockets or minds with the comfortable hostels blocked out for travellers to meet people of the same tribe. Hostels with huge common spaces to interact with strangers, and neat bunk beds with well-designed amenities are becoming very popular with the solo travellers.

The Hosteller lists all the available amenities at the reception for the travellers convenience. The staff arranges group tours and daily local activities to keep the hostellers active throughout the day. For the late-evenings and nights, they generally arrange chill activities like bonfires followed by movie/sports nights with dinner.

Private rooms in The Hosteller - Coorg Mini

The hostels come with budget-friendly private rooms for those who like to enjoy their privacy with a little-bit of mingling with other travellers in the common areas. My private room in The Hosteller - Coorg Mini was comfortable equipped with a huge double-bed, a wardrobe and a workstation. The room had all the amenities - tea/coffee maker, toiletries, towels and neat linen and a QR code to scan the menu and order for room services.

The vibrant work desk in my room instantly lifted my mood. It is one of the cutest workstations to have in your room.

Neat bunk-beds at The Hosteller - Coorg Mini

I was impressed with the neatly done bunk beds in The Hosteller - Coorg Mini and even more impressed with double bathrooms in the 8-bed female dorm. The bunk beds are spaced out and has all the amenities - charging points, reading lights, side pockets, lockers, clean linen. Bring your own towels & lockers, else you will end up spending extra charges for renting these at the hostel.

The commons space at The Hosteller - Coorg Mini as also neatly designed and well-maintained. The travellers can just hang around at the outdoor smoking area, the bonfire area with swings, hammocks in the balconies.

The food at the cafe in The Hosteller - Coorg Mini is delicious. Coming from a non-foodie like me, it has to be really exceptional for me to call it delicious. A highly experienced chef takes the ownership of the kitchen to serve some lip-smacking dishes! The cafe manager is very accommodating and handles all the request with care.

The beautiful weather of Coorg along with the neat ambience and the well-maintained property with soothing white & yellow interiors creates beautiful positive vibes at this space. Added to this is the team at The Hosteller Coorg which puts enough efforts to give a wonderful experience. Each one takes the ownership of their responsibilities and accommodates all the needs of the travellers with their best capabilities. I totally enjoyed my stay at The Hosteller, Coorg and it is marked as my go-to place for good vibes & some really delicious food!
